Android 18 is still some distance away, but OnePlus owners do not necessarily have to wait for an official rollout list to determine whether their phones are likely to receive it.
OnePlus’ own update commitments already tell us quite a lot.
The simplest case is the OnePlus 13 series. OnePlus explicitly says the OnePlus 13 and 13R will receive four major Android upgrades—Android 16, 17, 18 and 19.
The OnePlus 12 is another clear candidate because its four-generation support window takes it from Android 14 through Android 18.
Newer devices such as the OnePlus 15 series should naturally continue beyond Android 18.
But things become considerably more complicated with R models, Nord phones and older flagships.
The OnePlus 15 Series Should Definitely Get Android 18
The newest flagship generation is the easiest place to start.
The OnePlus 15 series launched with Android 16-generation software and is expected to receive four major Android upgrades, taking supported models through approximately Android 20.
That puts Android 18 comfortably inside the support period.
So owners of recent OnePlus 15-series flagships should have little reason to worry about Android 18 eligibility.
The more interesting question will eventually be how quickly those phones receive it.
OnePlus normally rolls major updates out in stages rather than delivering them simultaneously to every device and region.
Its current OxygenOS documentation specifically warns that rollout timing can vary by model, country and carrier.
That same pattern should be expected with Android 18.
The OnePlus 13 Is Confirmed Through Android 19
The OnePlus 13 has one of the clearest software commitments OnePlus has ever provided.
The company publicly clarified confusion surrounding its update policy in 2025 and stated that the phone’s original Android 15 installation does not count as one of its four promised upgrades.
Instead, OnePlus listed them individually:
Android 16.
Android 17.
Android 18.
Android 19.
That makes Android 18 effectively guaranteed under the current policy.
The OnePlus 13 should also receive six years of security support, giving it a longer security lifespan than several older OnePlus flagships.

For someone buying a recent OnePlus primarily because he wants several future Android versions, the 13 generation is therefore a relatively safe choice.
The OnePlus 13R Should Get It Too
OnePlus made the same Android-upgrade commitment for the OnePlus 13R.
Despite being the cheaper R-series model, OnePlus says the 13R is covered for Android 16, Android 17, Android 18 and Android 19.
That is significant because R-series devices have not always received the same support period as the main flagship.
For example, the OnePlus 12R has a shorter major-upgrade window than the OnePlus 12.
The 13R changed that situation.
So Android 18 should reach both the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R.
The OnePlus 13s is also positioned within the same newer support generation and is currently listed among OnePlus’ supported OxygenOS 16 devices.
The OnePlus 12 Should Receive Android 18 as Its Final Major Upgrade
This is where things become particularly useful for existing owners.
The OnePlus 12 launched with Android 14.
OnePlus committed to four major Android upgrades for the device.
That gives us:
Android 15 — first upgrade
Android 16 — second
Android 17 — third
Android 18 — fourth
Android 18 should therefore be the final major Android version for the OnePlus 12 under the existing policy.
That does not necessarily mean support immediately stops afterward.
Major operating-system upgrades and security updates are separate commitments.
OnePlus’ UK security-support page currently lists the OnePlus 12’s defined security-support period extending into 2029.
So a phone can stop receiving new Android generations while continuing to receive security maintenance.
The OnePlus 12R Is the Important Exception
Someone might naturally assume:
If the OnePlus 12 gets Android 18, surely the OnePlus 12R does too.
That is where OnePlus’ historical update policies become confusing.
The OnePlus 12R launched with Android 14 but was promised three major Android upgrades, rather than four.
That takes it through:
Android 15.
Android 16.
Android 17.
Its expected final major release is therefore Android 17—not Android 18.
Unless OnePlus voluntarily extends the support policy later, OnePlus 12R owners should not count on Android 18.
That distinction is worth remembering when comparing OnePlus’ main flagships with R-series models.
The names can look almost identical while software longevity differs.
The OnePlus 11 Will Probably Stop at Android 17
The OnePlus 11 is another phone that gets close but does not quite make it.
It launched with Android 13 and received a four-major-upgrade commitment.
That means:
Android 14.
Android 15.
Android 16.
Android 17.
Android 17 should therefore be its final major Android upgrade.
OnePlus still lists the OnePlus 11 among devices compatible with OxygenOS 16 today, so it remains actively supported.
But active support today does not imply Android 18 eligibility.
The promised upgrade count matters.
Unless OnePlus changes its policy, Android 18 should fall outside the OnePlus 11’s lifecycle.
The OnePlus Open Is Also Expected to Stop at Android 17
The OnePlus Open is a particularly painful exclusion because it was an expensive flagship foldable.
It launched on Android 13 and received four promised Android-generation upgrades.
That puts its expected endpoint at Android 17.
So despite being a premium foldable, it should not be expected to receive Android 18 under its original commitment.
OnePlus still includes the Open in its current OxygenOS 16 compatibility list.
Again, though, that does not extend its original major-upgrade promise.
This illustrates one weakness of buying an expensive phone late in its support generation.
Hardware can remain perfectly capable long after its guaranteed Android-version window approaches the end.
The OnePlus 11R Definitely Falls Short
The OnePlus 11R launched with Android 13 and was promised three major Android upgrades.
Those take it through Android 16.
That means Android 18 is two generations beyond its expected endpoint.
The phone remains on OnePlus’ OxygenOS 16 compatibility list today.
But Android 16 should represent its final major OS generation rather than a stepping stone toward Android 18.
OnePlus 10-Series Phones Are Out
Older OnePlus flagships should not be expected to receive Android 18.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is still listed among OxygenOS 16-compatible devices, but its original update commitment does not extend anywhere near Android 18.
Other OnePlus 10-series devices have even shorter remaining software lifecycles.
The OnePlus 10T, for example, is currently listed by OnePlus with a security-support period ending in 2026 on its UK support page.
So Android 18 should not be expected for the OnePlus 10 family.
The same obviously applies to the OnePlus 9 series and older flagships.
What About the OnePlus Nord 5?
Nord phones are harder to predict because OnePlus has changed its midrange support strategy over time.
The Nord 5 is currently receiving OxygenOS 16 and remains actively supported. OnePlus includes it alongside the Nord CE5 and Nord 4 in its current software compatibility information.
However, Android 18 eligibility depends on the specific major-upgrade commitment attached to each model rather than simply whether it receives Android 16 today.
That distinction is important.
Older Nord devices traditionally received fewer Android-generation updates than OnePlus flagships. OnePlus’ previous published policy provided two major Android upgrades for Nord and Nord CE devices, compared with longer support for flagships.
Newer models have improved that situation, but buyers should check the commitment attached to their exact device rather than assuming every current Nord will reach Android 18.
Nord 4 Owners Should Be More Cautious
The OnePlus Nord 4 remains very much alive in OnePlus’ current software ecosystem.
It appears on the official OxygenOS 16 compatibility list, and OnePlus’ UK security information indicates support extending into 2030.
But security support lasting into 2030 does not automatically mean Android upgrades continue for the same length of time.
That is one of the most common misunderstandings surrounding Android support.
A manufacturer can provide security patches long after major OS upgrades stop.
Therefore, the exact major-OS commitment—not the security-support end date—is what determines Android 18 eligibility.
Android 18 Will Probably Arrive as OxygenOS 18
OnePlus does not normally ship stock Android.
Global OnePlus phones use OxygenOS, with each major release based on the corresponding Android generation.
Android 16, for example, powers OxygenOS 16.
OnePlus currently lists models including the OnePlus 13, 12, 11, Open, Nord 5 and various Nord models as OxygenOS 16 compatible.
Following that naming convention, Android 18 should arrive for global OnePlus devices as OxygenOS 18.
The interface may therefore look considerably different from Google’s version of Android 18 on Pixel devices even though both share the same underlying Android generation.
When Will Android 18 Arrive?
An exact OnePlus Android 18 rollout schedule has not yet been announced.
And it would be premature to present specific dates as confirmed.
OnePlus is currently dealing with the Android 17 generation, while Android 18 remains a future release.
The safest expectation is that Google’s Pixel devices will receive Android 18 first, followed by manufacturers such as OnePlus adapting it into their own software.
OnePlus normally prioritizes its newest flagship.
Older flagships follow.
R-series and Nord devices typically arrive later.
Rollouts also occur in batches, with OnePlus explicitly noting that availability varies according to device, country and carrier.
So even two people with the same OnePlus model might not receive the update on exactly the same day.
The Likely Android 18 OnePlus List
Based on OnePlus’ currently published support commitments, the picture looks roughly like this:

The Nord lineup needs more model-by-model caution because OnePlus’ support commitments have evolved and differ between generations.
OnePlus’ Update Policy Is Improving, but It Still Requires Homework
OnePlus deserves credit for improving software longevity.
The OnePlus 13 generation gets four major Android upgrades and six years of security support.
That is considerably better than the company’s older policies.
But OnePlus still does not have the easiest support system for consumers to understand.
A OnePlus 12 and 12R can have different final Android versions.
A phone can receive security updates for years after major Android upgrades stop.
Nord models can operate under different commitments from flagships.
And regional differences can complicate things further.
That makes the model name extremely important.
So, Will Your OnePlus Get Android 18?
For recent flagship owners, the answer is relatively straightforward.
OnePlus 15-series devices, the OnePlus 13 family and the OnePlus 12 are the strongest Android 18 candidates under current commitments.
The OnePlus 13 and 13R are especially clear because OnePlus itself explicitly names Android 18 among the four upgrades those phones will receive.
The OnePlus 12 should reach Android 18 as the fourth and final major upgrade in its promised support cycle.
Older devices begin falling away quickly.
The OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Open are expected to finish at Android 17, while the 11R ends earlier.
That may make Android 18 an unusually important dividing line for OnePlus.
For some phones, it will simply be another update.
For the OnePlus 12, it should be the final major chapter.
And for many otherwise capable older OnePlus devices, Android 18 will be the version that finally leaves them behind.
