Cuisinart Recalls 12,660 Grills After Pizza-Oven Glass Shatters During Use

Cuisinart is recalling thousands of multifunction gas grills because the tempered-glass window in the built-in pizza oven can suddenly shatter while the appliance is being used.

Flying fragments of broken glass could seriously cut the person operating the grill or anyone standing nearby. Owners of the affected model have been told to stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund.

Which Cuisinart Grill Is Being Recalled?

The recall covers the Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill with Pizza Oven. The affected product carries model number CGG-6331.

The appliance combines a four-burner gas grill with a flat-top griddle, side burner and pizza oven. The tempered-glass viewing window is positioned in the pizza-oven section on top of the grill.

Approximately 12,660 recalled grills were sold in the United States, while another 83 units were sold in Canada.

Owners can confirm the model and serial number by checking the product label located inside the right-hand metal cabinet door.

Why Can the Glass Shatter?

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the tempered-glass window can break apart while the pizza oven is operating.

Tempered glass is designed to tolerate heat and break into smaller pieces rather than large, sharp sections. However, a sudden failure can still send hot glass fragments into the area around the grill.

Someone standing close to the appliance could suffer cuts to the hands, arms, face or other exposed areas. The CPSC describes the defect as presenting a risk of serious injury from a laceration hazard.

Dozens of Glass-Breaking Incidents Have Been Reported

Conair, the company conducting the Cuisinart recall, has received 37 reports of the pizza-oven glass shattering during use.

The company has also received one report of a fire connected to the affected product. No injuries had been reported when the recall was announced on July 9, 2026.

The lack of confirmed injuries does not mean owners should continue using the grill. The glass can fail without enough warning for people nearby to move away safely.

Where Were the Recalled Grills Sold?

The grills were available at Lowe’s and Walmart stores across the United States. They were also sold online through Cuisinart’s website.

Sales took place between December 2024 and May 2026. The grills were priced from approximately $500 to $750.

Anyone who purchased a similar-looking Cuisinart grill during that period should check the model number instead of relying only on its appearance.

Owners Should Stop Using the Entire Grill

The official recall notice instructs consumers to stop using the recalled grill immediately.

Owners should not attempt to continue using only the standard burners, griddle or another section of the appliance while avoiding the pizza oven. The manufacturer’s instructions apply to the recalled product as a complete unit.

People should also avoid deliberately heating the appliance to test whether the window will break. Glass failure may be unpredictable and could expose the user to hot fragments.

Official recall information and product photographs are available through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice.

What Refund Is Available?

Consumers who own an affected grill can contact Conair to request a refund.

The recall provides a refund of up to $500. Customers who still have proof of purchase may qualify for reimbursement based on the amount they originally paid, subject to the terms of the recall program.

Owners will be asked to follow the company’s instructions for safely removing the tempered-glass panel. They must then submit a photograph of the removed glass and another photograph showing the grill’s serial number.

After completing the required documentation, consumers should write “Recall” on the removed glass before disposing of it according to the company’s instructions.

Owners should not remove the glass until they have reviewed the official procedure. Attempting to handle already cracked or damaged glass without suitable precautions could cause an injury.

How to Contact Cuisinart About the Recall

Consumers can contact Conair toll-free at 833-408-0463. The recall assistance line is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

Additional information may be available through the Cuisinart safety recall page and the official CPSC recalls database.

Canadian consumers should follow the instructions published through the Government of Canada recall notice.

What Owners Should Do Now

Anyone with a Cuisinart Propel+ grill should locate the label inside the right-hand metal door and confirm whether the model number is CGG-6331.

An affected grill should be switched off, disconnected from its fuel source when safe to do so and kept out of use until the consumer completes the recall process.

Owners should also keep other household members from operating the grill without knowing about the recall. This is especially important when the appliance is stored in a shared outdoor cooking area or used during parties and family gatherings.

The recall is a reminder that a seemingly small component, such as a viewing window, can create a serious safety hazard when it is exposed to repeated heat. Checking the model number and following the refund instructions can prevent someone nearby from being struck by shattered glass.
